Indian artifact collectors will be at the Tuscarora Academy Museum Sunday, July 23 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Steve Zeiders, an enthusiastic collector from Mifflintown who has been collecting since 1962, will bring his vast collection of artifacts. Some that will be displayed on his tables include bannerstones, drills, mini-axes, knives, hammer stones, sharpening tools, celts, engraved tools, stone bowls, scrapers, sewing needles, clay and stone pipes, and a fire starter rock. The Juniata County Historical Society’s Archives Room is closed so that our volunteers can celebrate the founding of our Country on July 4 and 5. Captain Jack Dillman, former ferryman of the Millersburg Ferry for many years, will be speaking at this year’s Juniata County Historical Society Fall Dinner Meeting to be held Wednesday, October 12. Dillman, began his work at the wheel of the ferry, when he was a young teen.
