Author to Speak at Spring Dinner

April 26, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Juniata County Historical Society’s annual meeting and Spring Dinner this year features author Joyce Kieffer, of Mechanicsburg. She has penned three historical novels that center around Juniata County.

Kieffer’s historical trilogy, “The Trees Remember,” takes you to a time when life is simpler … before telephones and electricity … when life depends on what you grow or make yourself by hand … a time when forests cover most of the land.

All three books, “The Trees Inspire,” “The Trees Endure,” and “The Trees Re-member,” will be available that evening and she will provide signatures as well. The books are also available in print and eBook at: store.bookbaby.com; Ama-zon.com; and BarnesandNoble.com, and other booksellers. Contact Kieffer at joycelkieffer@gmail.com if you would like to buy an autographed copy(s) ($26 includes tax and shipping.) Visit her web-site at www.joycekiefferauthor.com.

The meeting and dinner will be held Wednesday, April 26, at Walker Grange, Mexico. This will also be the annual meeting and election of officers. The menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, California blend/cheese, cream slaw and angel food cake with topping. Dinner is served family style at 6:30 p.m., with a short business meeting before the presentation. Tickets are $20. Please stop by the JCHS Archives for tickets any Tuesday, from 10a.m. to 4 p.m., or call 717-436-5152 to reserve yours. Pick up your ticket(s) or mail your check to the Juniata County Historical Society, 498 Jefferson St., Suite B., Mifflintown, PA 17059, complete with a stamped return envelope if you wish your tickets to be mailed back to you.
